So I was sitting down writing code on my teensy weensy computer and had the strangest thought.  As I was installing the newest CTP Bits from Microsoft for the Visual Studio "Orcas" Version I was longing a bigger screen, but i thought that a USB utility that consisted of a simple round Oplical lens, with a small projector in it, would be enough to broadcast a moving image to any surface setup behind the device.  attached to the back of a Origami, it would be easy to adjust the "Screen" to be 4-8 inches from the lens, to get a image 8.5x11 full size paper, or move the paper back to get a larger image, possibly up to a large projector sized image!  That would totally rock.  If you find out about something like this, leave me a comment with the link!

But along the way while searching on the web for a webcam usb projector, I FOUND THIS which actually kicks ass.. a remote controlled R2D2 webcam, that hooks into your skype phone as a remote controller, giving you world wide remote control!!  Also a R2D2 Projector, which is cool as hell.

3/30/2007 4:42:42 AM Super Uber Geek I really need a rollup 24" monitor, a flat flexible screen that i can pack in a bag, along with my origami UMPC to use as a large touch screen. If nobody else makes it, I spose i will.
3/31/2007 1:46:10 AM Super Uber Geek So today i found the actual thing i was looking for http://www.io2technology.com, but it's not cheap... the HelioDisplay is only a mere 18 thousand! here are a few other prototype flexible rollup screens: http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2006/09/22/Roll_up_monitor and sony's new prototype: http://www.engadget.com/2005/07/08/sonys-new-ultrathin-rollable-display-prototype and epsons: http://www.behardware.com/news/8253/epson-s-flexible-monitor-more-precise-than-paper.html
