Xerox Fuji is displaying a new printer in Japan that translates a sheet of printed text and graphics from a newspaper in Japanese and will make the copy of it in English, Chinese or Korean. It appears that this new printer is using a backend server to do the OCR and translation, which sends the translated document back to the printer while preserving all original layout as well.
This hopefully will build on the existing, half assed transation tools currently seen butchering digitial translations at Babelfish and Google Translate.
